Teaching

I am committed to teaching, but nonetheless I am delighted to say that I will be on study leave for the whole of 2010.

My research is in matroid theory with a particular focus on structural matroid theory and matroid representation theory. Two introductory talks on matroids can be found here and here.

Currently I am involved in a project with Jim Geelen and Bert Gerards attempting to extend the results of the Graph Minors Project of Robertson and Seymour to matroids representable over finite fields. Surveys of our work in extending the project can be found here and here.
